DD, BCM, Noveske, Centurion, KAC, and even Colt make quite accurate 11.5" units. If you want precision you can go SS, but on shorter barrels CL/CMV are plenty stiff for most uses.

Since you can get the BCM w/ the KMR pre-installed, I'd just roll with that option.

    Thanks man I appreciate it.

I didn't/don't really have the $ for another build right this minute but after hearing (EFORM) form 1's are around a month's wait right now, well, couldn't resist. I WAS just going to get a new lower, get my stamp for it, then build is as $ allowed. Who knows if we'll still be able to get em if we get another anti gun clinton in the white house (knock on wood, figures crossed that does not happen, etc etc).

I have really been thinking about getting another stripped lower sbr'd and keeping it in the safe.

    Thanks everyone for the input!

I guess I forgot to mention I'll be adding about 24 ounces to the end of the barrel, specwar 762, yeah it's heavy but I like it.

That said I'd like the lightest barrel possible while staying stiff enough to support the extra weight of the can, AND as accurate as possible.... Am I asking too much? We'll see soon enough i guesd.

    Barrels:

Daniel Defense and BCM are up top of my list right now as per most suggestions.

As far as the BCM barrels are y'all referring to the SS410 barrels or their hammer forged pieces?

It would be kind of cool if I could essentially make a shorter baby (but more badass) version of my 16incher with a 11.5" ss410. BUT if i could get the same accuracy out of a chrome lined barrel I'm doing that.

I'm going to go with this barrel here for my SBR build. It's guaranteed SUB MOA out to 100 yards, and I don't really know how further after that it would still maintain that sub MOA, but I'm going to buy it anyway.

Damn I'll check it out for sure thanks for the heads up. Can't really beat guarantee's on accuracy when it comes to barrels in my opinion. I've read 11.5's are less prone to issues than 10.5's so I was going to play it safe and go with 11.5. But being my first sbr I think 10.5 would be a more fun/better handling package with can attached. Either way I appreciate all the help guys thanks.

I really wanted one of northtechs titanium forward assist buttons cause they look pimp, and titanium is cool. Maybe I'll end up with one of their barrels instead.

I see they offer both black and stainless as well as 1/7 and 1/8 twist, which selection you going with?

The 1/8, that way, I can utilize many different grains of bullet.

I know everyone has mentioned Blah & Blah. However, here's a dude rocking out on an 10.5" LMT MRP CQB at distance. With MOA results. A weapon that I currently own as well. :-)

Dude that's a pretty cool video, good view of trace, good sence of the time it takes sound (the ding to reach the shooter) to travel at distance vs seeing the plate swinging. And I've got to get some tracers cause that was awesome, few awful, awful "flyers" with em but still looks real fun.

As far as that upper is concerned, I'm jealous and upset cause I'm about $1200 short from what I could find. Very cool seeing an sbr going out that far tho, I'll have to check out YouTube for similar examples, if they exist.

It does give me newfound optimism for my project though. So thank you for that!

The SIONICS 11.5" barrels are very accurate (www.sionicsweaponsystems.com). In the testing a few months back in GA with an LE agency we were getting 5 shot groups hovering around 1 MOA. They also have a conservative gas port size for suppressed use.

We are about half way through the process of getting the newer barrels and other stuff finished up. We also have complete uppers available as well.
