Yeah, here's a thought. Some ****ed-up kid decides to go off the rails and then blow his brains out, two or three kids are fighting for their lives, and some guys are yammering about ammo prices and government conspiracies. WTF?

We don't have a gun problem, we have a mental health and society problem. Half the deaths by guns are suicides, in an incredibly small proportion of these the suicide-er kills a few people before offing themselves. This is an aberration and outlier of our suicide problem, not a gun problem. "But he shot them with a gun?"- just like he has seen 10,000 of shootings on TV, in movies and 'playing' games. You marinade an brain in SSRIs, a violent culture and teen angst and you get a few that instead of just offing themselves, decide to do it group-on style.

300+ million firearms in the US and how many mass shootings?

Article on nbc news suggests the shooter may have been a jaded ex-boyfriend of one of the victims.

Spot on. Not a firearm issue, a mental health issue. Children are bombarded daily with extreme violence and (in my opinion) are desensitized to it. That and god knows what this kid was on...probably a nice cocktail of SSRI's and speed (aka Adderall).

Or he was just a piece of shit looking to get his 15sec's of fame.

This gets odder. The shooter was a popular kid and not-white. What the heck. When Home Coming kings shoot up the school.

Sounds like a handgun- small size, pulled out of his pocket- eyewitness says it jammed and he had to do remedial action to get it back working.

Witness said the shooter had a blank look, fired 6 shots and it jammed. Says he shot his friends in the back. Then turned to another student witnes and 'smirked' and then went outside and started shooting more rounds before shooting himself.

    WTF

Banning guns is as effective as banning cafeterias. Seems like most of these shootings happen in cafeterias.

Absurd CNN reporter saying police confirmed "40 cal Beretta.....a high capacity gun but it doesn't look like he had an extended clip". Also showed Facebook picks of him showing off his new .17 rifle. .

To this Erin Burrnet replies "another school shooting and no gun legislation passed"

Do these people know they are full of shit or are they that dumb? I should be over this, but every time I see this crap I seethe with anger.

We don't know yet where he got the gun from, at least I don't, but assuming it was from the home, when are we going to start holding the parents responsible for not locking up their guns?
It is all well and good to say it is your right to not lock them up with minor children in the home, but if it your right to leave them unlocked, then it is also your responsibilty when it goes bad.
