I like to keep things simple. Spike's had a group buy about 7 or 8 years ago and I bought consecutive lowers for $125 a piece back then. I've had one finished for about a year and a half now (the 14.5") and I just finished the 16" about 2 months ago.
The 14.5" is a franken-gun consisting of a Spike's lower, an A2 upper from a 20" A2 I've had since 2000, a BCM BCG, a 2010 era Bushmaster 14.5" barrel, a LPK from a 1999 Bushmaster lower, a Spike's T-2 buffer and a BCM carbine stock
The 16" is a BCM 16" mid-length upper that I bought 2 months ago with a Spike's lower, a RRA 2-stage trigger, BCM stock hardware and a Spike's T-2 buffer. I got a take-off Colt carry handle and she's all set! Holds 1.5" groups at 100 with iron sights.
