Maybe it was a Podunk PD DHS grant purchase, but they didn't get the grant.
Not, you know, hugely likely. But more likely than whatever it is that they're trying to imply.

Yeah, I've seen these, too. Aren't they selling them for $7K or something? They're advertised as a "deployment package". You don't even get the pistol in the pictures.
I'm embarrased the seller is in the same city as me.
BTW, take a look at the website. It gets even worse. You have accept a disclaimer to view their wares.
"If it sounds to good to be true..."
"United States Property" I wasn't in the service, but that just doesn't sound like the "official" magwell engraving.

If you google the seller, who shall remain nameless, they seem to sell contract overrun" rifles with "US Gov't Property" stamped on them at 2-3x what the identical civvie version would cost. Since anyone can just have a receiver stamped to read whatever nonsense they want, I call shenanigans. If that were true, the LE/mil restricted Colt lowers from the old days would be worth a fortune today.
They also have some pseudo-PMC packages of stuff (optics, slings, cases) anyone can assemble on Brownells with a quick search and some heavily bastardized 1911s and Glocks.

In the future, PMAGs will be the currency standard.
Fake;
They have them engraved and painted, and sell them for strong money.
Doesn't matter, they'll sell.

Reading the descriptions they do a good job of skirting the line and avoiding any direct statements as to what agency/.mil/contractor/etc ordered the guns.
The magwell also states "United States Property". I am a citizen and live in the US, so is it rally a false statement? They never say US Gov't property.
It appears they throw as many catchy titles at the gun as they can, then jack up the price so only a true "operator" can afford it...or so they would have you think.

Hope they die a slow death of ball cancer; I've had my fill of shady characters over the last few years.
