I have run a similar set up in the past, though I was running a full length AR and a TLR2s than the X400, but same concept and light located at the 6 O clock position. Personal thoughts... It isn't that great of a set up. The offset of the laser to bore doesn't give it too much utility to me since I found issues with it at longer ranges (Was running an ACOG so you could pretty easily see the dot at extended ranges and it was really not much good past the 100 meter mark.) Also the TLR2 and X400 both hang farther than the none laser counterparts and I found mine hanging up on things more often than not on my gear. Also was not a fan of the way the bore shadowed at the 6 o clock position. Then again running them at other positions has issues as well so you are kind of stuck with the 6 position for best usability.
Now, I do find laser to be fun, if not as useful to myself as some find them. Will be honest, if I could find a good priced low profile laser that hugged a rail and was easy to use with a pressure switch and took CR123s then I would likely buy one to play with, maybe mount it at the 9 o clock opposite my Scout light.
