Will it fit? 13.7" barrel and suppressor.

Does anyone know if a 13.7" barrel and a 13" rail will allow a suppressor to be mounted? Suppressor is an AAC M42000 on a Battlecomp 51.0. Will the can smack against the rail face prior to proper lockup?

Barrel length is measured from the closed bolt, not from the front of the receiver. Also the threads are going to be around .62" long themselves. So I'm going to hazard a guess and say no. Not unless you use a handguard that will fit over it.

I had to do that recently and went with a Knight's URX4 to fit over a 1.5" can.

I figured as much but that being said, there are some rail/ barrel combos which are extremely close but still clear (DD MK18). Ive seen a few pics and it looks like the threading begins right at the very end of the rail. I probably should have added: the rail is a geissele mk1. I'm hoping it would clear but don't want to drop $400 on a Noveske barrel if I can't suppress it. Does anyone have this set up?

You can always mill the front of the rail down to give you the clearance you need - to whit I would venture to guess you'd want at least 1/8" gap between the suppressor and the rail, 1/16 might do it.

If the 10.3" Mk18 barrel with a 9.55" Mk18 rail gives you the ideal clearance, then just subtract 10.3-9.55 and the difference is .75, subtract that from 13.7 and you get 12.95 as the ideal rail length.

With only 0.05" of difference from the 13" rail, you could in all honesty probably just remove by your favorite method that much from the front of the rail like Sticks said. You would want to get the rail refinished though... Duracote or Cerakote or something.

It works on my 13.7 Noveske Barrel and Geissele SMR MK8 13". Also works on KAC and Surefire cans.

The threading is very close to starting at the end of the rail. The m4-2000 does not go all the way down past the threaded part of the barrel with Muzzle device attached. Its close though. There is still a small gap. As long as you pull the rail all the way back to the upper when installing, and are using shims for installing the brake, you will be fine. Here is a pic of the Geissele SMR 13" with 13.7 noveske barrel. Using a MAMS brake on it now. The collar before the threads on a mk18 is barley inside the rail. On a 13.7 barrel with SMR 13" rail, that collar is outside the rail. So you do have enough clearance. At least I do on mine. Hope that helps.

Another note for reference... On a 11.5 barreled upper that I have my Battlecomp 51.0 and m4-2000 on now, Im running a KMR10 (10.5 at longest length) and I have .444 inches between the rail and the suppressor. This means essentially that I could add the .444 to the rail and it would be exactly touching. This leaves me with a total of .556 barrel to handguard difference with the 51.0 and m4-2000. With your .7 difference in question, would give a gap of roughly .144 inches. These measurements are with your muzzle devise in question. The battlecomp 51.0.

Your SMR build sounds sweet. Would you be willing to share some more picks? Simply because gun porn.

Its a great shooter. Have a lot tied up into this build with the can and dual tax stamps, etc. My fav SBR at the moment..
