Wrong serial # on a form 1

Although they are wrong, I can see their side because of the way all the engraving appears. If it been SAR, SCR, or SBP...never would've been questioned.

I really don't see their side. The model number is listed on another line, correct? If it had read SER (for serial number) I could perhaps understand. At the very least they should have done their job and contacted the manufacturer of the receiver. The cost of their "service" is $200 after all.

The SBR- looks like it's a field title like CAL- and MOD- are. It doesn't really show in the pic above, but the numerical portion is in a different font, so if a pic is sent it could be even more confusing:



So, although they are wrong, I do see how an uninformed examiner could think an applicant was making a mistake since the F1 is for an SBR. As mentioned before, SAR, or SCR, or even SBP wouldn't be questioned...and they do make some of those as well:

Well I'm 31 days into my second form 1 lower with a SBR-XXXX serial number I hope to hear something next week. With any luck they have resolved this issue and I will not get disapproved

Just had a similar issue where my ST15 receiver had a serial number "NSL ######" with a few spaces in between. I form 1 with ###### as the serial number and get a verification email request from ATF examiner. Send picture and have to resubmit under NSL###### ..... it was approved the next day. My mistake clearly but the spaces were like above picture between CAL and MULTI which tripped me up.

But in your case, what in the world did you think NSL was there go r?

Who knows, but n my lower it looks like it was meant for something??? Just a brain fade quick form 1 just shy of rookie mistake.

My screwed handled very nicely by ATF examiner. Very pleasant, easy going emails back in forth with me thinking about the penalties for wrong forms. Only drawback is the additional $200 and the wait for the original $200 back.
