Cool...let me know how you make out with H4350. I don't have any issues finding that powder here in Nashville. Yesterday I tested the Lapua 136gr L bullet.

    43.5gr H4350
    Fed 210M primer
    Lapua virgin .260 brass
    Max: 2767
    Min: 2745
    Avg: 2755
    SD: 7
    ES: 22

Each 5 shot group at a 100 yards was the size of a dime. This Saturday I'm going to enter my first match using the Berger 140gr Hybrid with 43.5gr of H4350.

It's been a bit since I've updated this thread. I ended up shooting in my first match on 3/14. Wow..not easy but I had a great time and learned my dope was slightly off at 600 which was causing me fits. I haven't changed anything with the rifle setup.

I've settled on using the Berger 140gr Hybrid with 43.5gr H4350, Lapua brass and Federal 210M primers. COAL is at 2.900" and I'm getting the following speeds consistently.

    Max: 2723 fps
    Min: 2710 fps
    Avg: 2717 fps
    SD: 4
    ES: 13

Here is my elevation numbers that have yielded consistent center hits on sighter targets at the following distances:

    600 yards - 3.8 mils up
    750 yards - 5.5 mils up
    1000 yards - 9.0 mils up

Anyone else shooting the Tikka T3 CTR in .260 and have any experiences they want to share? How about those of you with the CTR in .308?

Hope to be going tomorrow to check some things. Settled on 40.8 of the 2000MR 2.850, going to recheck the 40.3-6 range just to see. I did find H4350 and 42.7 area seems to be the spot. Both with 140 Berger Hybrid. Hope to use my buddy's Magneto Speed as well and get distance. I seemed to have a tad of case head expansion with the 43.5 H4350. I like the gun, just wish it was a 6.5cm for the factory ammo option. I'll burn the barrel and replace it one day.

I realize this is a little dated now, but to the OP; Did you ever get a chassis for it?

I've got the CTR in .260 and love it. I overscoped it with a 6-24 PST and am looking to swap for a 2.5-10 (or possible a 4-16x), but have been very pleased. I'm shooting 140gr Federal Vital Shoks an am shooting sub MOA groups at a 300 yd zero.

One thing I do NOT love, however is the price for replacement magazines (which I believe are shared by Sako TRG rifles): $150+.

I have the CTR in 260 and have been supremely impressed with the accuracy of this gun, and all I've shot has been factory hunting ammo. I like it so much that I'm thinking of buying a T3 Hunter for a truck gun for the occasional 'yote or whatever else that crosses my path.

I got a RCBS Rock Chucker for Christmas and this will be my first caliber to load for, so I really appreciate the load data you're putting in this thread. All I have at this point is the press, do you guys have any recommendations for reloading equipment specifically for the 260?

I don't think a 6-24 is overscoping. You can reach out past 1000 easily with that cartridge and more magnification (within reason) doesn't hurt at those ranges.

Sorry for the late reply...haven't checked in for a bit. Nope...I'm still shooting with the factory stock and my Leupold Mark AR mod 1 6-18x40 scope. I'd like to try and chassis and having a hard time deciding between the MDT LSS XL, XLR Element or MPA BA chassis.

I absolutely love this rifle...it is crazy easy to load for.

I'll be honest. I don't use any fancy equipment and have no problems producing quality loads. I use Lee single stage presses and Lee dies. I do have a Hornady auto charger that helps load faster.

I've been using mainly H4350 powder with Federal 210M primers. I'm running out of those primers so have been trying Tula large rifle and those have worked great. I also tried out some Varget today with Laupa 123gr scenars. Both 38.7gr and 39.3gr of Varget with the 123 bullet and a COAL of 2.865" gave me 5 shot groups the size of a dime at 100 yards. I didn't chrono them but will do that hopefully sometime this month and post results.

I was able to get out to the range today. The 39.3gr of Varget with the 123 scenar was going just over 2700 fps. Slow but still accurate. I think I'll stick with the H4350 since I don't have any problems finding it locally. At least I do know Varget will work in a pinch.

Then throwing the rocks would probably hit the target before the 783
