A little late to this, but FWIW:
For those going into snake-y areas, I highly recommend researching "Australian Method" aka "Pressure Immobilization Technique" (PIT) for first aid management of venomous snake-bites. I wrote an article on snake bite, particularly PIT, awhile back that remains current: http://bfelabs.net/venomous-snakebite-management/ - but there is a lot more info out there than just what I've put together.
The kit I recommend for PIT is gloves, antiseptic wipe(s), a sharpie or skin marker, gauze pad, 3 ACE-type bandages, and a triangular bandage. Should be easy to source those items almost anywhere.

Non-venomous bites, treat like any other bite: A nasty, germ filled, set of puncture wounds. Clean, irrigate, disinfect (disinfect, disinfect), and bandage. Change dressings regularly, and BOLO for infection.
Insect and Spider bites; Treat for irritation with topicals, and use benadryl. If you're allergic to particular bug bites, have an epi-pen is probably the best advice I have.
