Yeah that's why I was hoping someone might know a little more on it. It doesn't really have a designation of vfg, handstop or afg. When is CA receptive to anything gun related Haha.

It is a handstop.. Not a vertical grip
It is currently legal, until it isn't.
I just talked to Lanco about it last week and they have approval in with the tech branch of the ATF. They are still awaiting an official letter.
FWIW, it is designed so you can cut some of the length off of it to make it shorter. This would make it look even more handstop like.
