I don't think it counts as gunsmithing if you replace a junk part with what should have been used in the first place.
On a side note. That rifle looks really clean, doesn't look like it had been run much. And here I keep hearing that the plastic lowers are milspec or stronger than milspec

who would register one of those when its crazy simple to mill one out from an 80%
most of the polymer lowers I see break are those that look like mil spec
the one I have ( not used ) has extra thickness around the important areas so they look beefier
of course I have an old bushmaster carbon 15 for like 10 years now it has no problems upper and lower is some sort of polymer and looks like a mil spec lower
I have never seen these pictures before. Man, I feel a lot better about the mistakes I have over the years. Cause they were nothing like this stuff. Holy crap!
