    My first build

Took my time in 2014 and finished this build a few months ago. You can see it is a mix mash of components:

    Palmetto State defense stripped lower
Magpul MIAD grip, CTR Stock, AFG, trigger guard, BUIS, BAD lever
    ACT trigger
Bravo Company BCG, buffer tube, gas block & tube.
Spikes tactical stripped upper and heavy buffer
14.5 in Faxon mid barrel, 1/8 twist
    Rainer arms 15in handguard
    Noveske muzzle device
    Surefire light
    AimPoint Patrol

Looks like a nice carbine with quality parts to me. How do you like the mid-length on a 14.5?

The mid length works like a dream. Recoil is non existent and I haven't had any issues with cycling or feeding. So far I have about 500 rounds through it and it has worked with anything I have fed it. Of my three AR's this would be my first choice if I needed to rely on something if in a bad situation.

My only beef was I had to go up to a local machine shop a buddy worked at to get the muzzle device pinned and welded so everything was legal.

Nice looking setup. I really like the looks of that lower, especially since I am a South Carolina native. That would give me another reason/excuse to build another AR. Why stop at just 30 of them?

Appreciate it, the guys at Palmetto State great and are local to me in Greer. They usually have these "blemish" lowers for around $50. Although I never found any blemish.

I feel the same way about my 18" middy. The difference between a mid and a carbine length (given the same BCG and buffers in both) was much more than I expected.

looks great...be careful about the rainier handguard, I've had one come off after it got hot and the tension loosened. Just make sure to re-tighten after shooting a few rounds.
