    Direct Thread can on SBR

So my Griffin Armament Spartan 3 556 can likes to loosen while I'm shooting. The suppressor has wrench flats. Can I take a couple slices of peel washer leftover from another suppressor and torque it on a bit? Or is it better to clean the threads and give it a drop of Rocksett? I'll almost never remove it. I'm leaning toward wrenching it on a bit.

    thanks
    scott

clean threads and just use red loctite since you never remove it. I used rocksett and it just never really worked in my opinion.

It took me a minute to find, but I'd recommend trying this Nord-Lock washer:

I used it with my Gemtech M4-02 with success, as it is recommended by other end users to me. The various manufacturers never recommend a washer, so this is buyer beware.

I'd just tighten it a bit. Wouldn't worry with a peel washer.

Have you tried a wrap or two of Teflon tape?

A peel washer is for timing, not retention.

I'd use Rocksett, but the Nord Lock thing is interesting.

Thanks for the suggestions. That locking washer looks neat, but I worry about voiding the warranty. Yes, I just used a set of peel washers to time a brake, and had a couple slices left over, and was thinking maybe it was better to tighten up against that, rather than the barrel shoulder, but I guess not.

I'll put the upper on a bev block and try tightening it a bit with a wrench first.
    Thanks again,

    Scott

I'd avoid the nord-lock washer unless you can verify that it maintains alignment of the suppressor. A piece of drill rod sized to the bore, or one of the Geissele suppressor alignment rods would be a worthwhile investment to avoid a baffle strike if you decide to use one of those washers.

Teflon tape a few times around the threads seems to always do the job for me.

Wouldn't that melt and make a mess?
