I am expecting to see some serious innovation in the laser and light arena over the next few years. With all the light and slim Zeitgeist as of late (not knocking it, as I am a card-carrying member) it wouldn't surprise me to see some IR/visible laser/light combos that are a lot slicker than the bulky units that are out there. Something along the lines of an even lower profile X400V, with the laser positioned on the other side of the light (closer to the rail). This would also make zeroing simpler, I would imagine.

So, something like the Surefire XVL2:

1 cell, white/IR light with red/IR laser. And with Surefire's release schedule, coming to you Q1 of 2029.

Civvies can still (for the time being, that is, until Hussein & Co. dictate otherwise from their thrones) use neutered lasers. It is truly a middle finger to the US Constitution that the Food and Drug Administration ****ing regulates lasers, which last time I checked, are neither foods nor drugs. Holy ****.

Technically their is nothing that actually bans you from owning a real peq (class iiia/iiib) style laser device. As long as it isn't stolen govt property (ie you acquired it from a mil or le individual who purchased a personal unit) you can own it. The catch is that you cannot legally operate it.

    Now that looks mighty interesting.
Does Surefire have a history of taking a long time to release products after announcing them?

Well, their mini-X300 is still vaporware after all these years, and the X400 with the green laser took, like, two years from "imminent release" to reaching my hands. So, yeah, a lot of their products take awhile to come to market... if at all. Excellent stuff, but I do hate the whole teasing thing (announce what you're working on if you must, but don't give a release date and push it back constantly). Beyond that, I'm curious, what function are you planning on using the dual spectrum lights for?

I heard the single cell x300 has been shelved. wouldn't be surprised if this has been as well.
