Why use a lower that is much larger than it needs to be?

I think that he was getting at the issue of magazine compatibility.
I like my rifles like my women - short, light, fast, brown, and suppressed.

You're going to partner with Bravo Company? Ah, one can dream.
Looking for someone who can make a polygonal 1911 barrel for my father. IM me if you can help.

Yes, and the ability to drop it on a LaRue, LMT, KAC or similar pattern lower for those (like me) who already own those rifles.

I talked to Justin at shot and this rifle will be simular to the Acr overall without Bushmaster getting involved. It uses an Acr extrusion cut for a .308 instead of 5.56. Beyond that it's significantly different, as of right now it will be built from the ground up to be a semi auto precision rig.

The Fox-42 will have a changeable barrel system that is different than the ACR. The lower will accept 308 pmags, AR grips, trigger, and will use a 55 degree safety. The upper is shortened from the Acr and is cut at the trunion area whereas the Acr extends about 7-8 inches past the trunion. The Fox-42 will also be side charged versus the forward charging on the Acr. It will have a KRG stock but can accept Acr stocks.

The rail system will will attach differently. This prototype had the rail set up to attach by the bolts going into the trunion. It was also pinned in the top of the receiver to help stiffen it up.
