Just throwing this out there, but as a +1 for the microMOA, you can get to or 3 position. You can have it drilled to whatever you like. Set the base for .070 and the other one or two for whatever else you like. If you don't have to move it, you don't have to move it... Your other option is to have factory port closed and a new port drilled. I can tell you that even Noveske 10.5 is .082. They all port for cheap civi ammo.

In case you didn't catch it in my previous post, Noveske 10.5 is .082.

    Bumping this with new information...

Just got off the phone with Rainier Arms, their 10.5 Select Barrel (5.56) has a port size of .064! I will be ordering one as soon as it comes back into stock and opening it up to NSWC spec of .071.

My 10.5 shorty has an Odin Works barrel with a .082" port. With a rifle RE and a Syrac adjustable gas block, it runs real good. I think it will work even better with an LMT enhanced carrier.

When I first set it up, I ran it with a pistol RE, carbine spring and carbine weight buffer. It hit the hammer so hard, I could feel the slap through the trigger. An H2 helped smooth things out. But I like the rifle RE and Syrac better

Any chance the standard and SS have a different chamber and rifling like noveske?

Would you know if their performance series 10.5 has the same gas port size? I just put an upper together with this barrel and so far, so good. I emailed BA but received no response so far.

I'll recommend you call and speak to someone else and verify this since I MEASURED AN ACTUAL BARREL with pin gages and got the .071 measurement. This isn't the first of their barrels I have checked. YMMV.

It's not uncommon to have people answer phones that have very little technical information about their products.

I certainly remember your posting which is what drove me to look into their barrels further.

.071" is what I am hoping for anyway, so hopefully the person was wrong and that's what it comes in as. I will verify and if for whatever reason its larger than that I'll take advantage of their 90 day return policy on their barrels.

I'm not seeing any chrome-lined Rainier barrels. Is it just me?
