    Surefire x300v vs m300v m600v

Between the three which is going to yield the best results at night with a pvs14. I need a new IR light for hunting at night with. Thinking I would like to get at least 100 yards of useable IR.

The X300V and M600V are essentially the same in terms of power and run time and they both beat the M300V in those regards as well. Between the X300V and M600V the choice comes down to your preferences in ergonomics, weight and price.

Thanks, what you said makes sense. What I can't find are the specs for light range for the x300v and 600v. TNVC usually does an excellent job and shows real world pictures but I can't find find any review on these.

TNVC does have IR beamshots for the M600V and the visible light range is calculated at 155 meters for the X300V/M600V. While I too don't remember seeing any visible light beamshots for the new Vampires, the heads appear to be very similar if not identical to the older KM series heads in terms of performance. Both the old KM series heads and new Vampire heads use TIR optics and they have identical figures for output (150lm) and intensity (6kcd) so I'm betting the beam profiles will also be pretty similar. You might want to look around at some of the old M900V/M500V/M952V/etc. reviews and usage pictures until such time as someone with firsthand knowledge can weigh in and either confirm or deny my suspicions.

I've got no pictures, and have not used a m600v or x300v, but I can say that the m300v provided plenty of illumination at 100 yds without washing out the class 1 dbal i2. That being said, I'm looking forward to upgrading to that new class 1 dbal i2 with the ir illuminator instead of the visible laser. Won't have to worry about twisting the vampire head.

Hunting.. M600V hands down.. Here are a few pics of the M600V at 70 yards on a deer feeder through PVS7-3's First one is no light, second is illuminated. I think the 600 out preforms the 300 noticably. The M300V is pushing it at past 100 IMO. While I do most things inside that 100 range. The 600 does a better job. Using my CQBL laser, I have no issues with either light. Extending out past 150ish, you can see where the Dbal's and Peqs out perform. Sorry for the crap photos. Holding my rifle out the window, and trying to use my cell to take pics through the NVGs.

With the older vampire KM head and the new KM2-A head. They preform the same IMO. The head is about half the size though, and you get the Scout style mount instead of the Millennium series wider mount. The new m600v is superior. The M300v is on my all my SBRs and the M600V is on my SPR rifle. Great lights.

Excellent info and thanks for sharing. Wonder what makes the 600v outperform the x300v.

I think I'm leaning 600v after the info you posted.

I couldn't say for sure about the X300V.. The two I'm compairing are the M300v vs the M600v. The 600 I can tell a difference vs the M300. I'll try to take some side by side photos. We just got some snow and makes everything so dang bright at night and it's hard to get a good photo with the NVGs with all this snow.
