You only need about 1/4" from the front of the hand guard to the shoulder of the threads. You have plenty of room.

I have zero experience with brakes as I find them very obnoxious to shoot next to them. But will these mount up with other brakes/flash hiders or will the mount only work with Surefire brakes and flash hiders? What effect will this have if used in conjunction with your flash hider?

It works only with the Surefire muzzle devices.

Gavin (or anyone at surefire) -
Will these work as blank firing adapters? We have the new pronged flash hiders on our work guns but need BFAs for some upcoming training. Someone had told us this will perform the same role, just want to double tap.

    Thanks, Rick

Obviously not Gavin, but I don't see how would these would produce enough back pressure to cycle the bolt.

Sounds like you'll be back to yelling "pew pew pew", but at least not as loud...

Yeah one of the surefire reps that we contacted said that was the case - doesn't seem possible to me because of the lack of a device creating sufficient back pressure in addition to nothing preventing objects from being fired through the bore. Not sure if the issue wasn't explained properly but we will have to keep looking for a solution.

Swapping back A2s on the guns every time you do blank training is a solution, but not one that I think is sufficient.

We have BFA's available but the blast diffuser will not work with blanks. It does not block the bore at all to cause a blank to cycle the BCG. You would want the SF-BFA-556

Awesome, hoping those run a little less than the price we were quoted as we need to outfit a few teams with them.

Surefire posted a short video of their "Blast Diffuser" on Facebook.
