I have Gerbar (on my second actually) and have been happy with mine. Both have been one handed models and I have had less problems with them than my leathermen. I also like the flat black color over the shiny SS.

The SOG tools treated me well after my Gerber broke.

I've had two gerbers fall apart on me, but I do love their knives.

    I like the Victorinox tools.

I think they're a better value. Same quality as a leatherman but a bit cheaper.

I couldn't tell you the model numbers as it was more than a decade ago while I was in the service. So far as I knew there was only one model available in the PX, but I could be wrong.

The first one seemed to have had some bad metal and the pliars broke when a Marine buddy borrowed it out in the field. The metal sheared neatly. He bought me a new one.

The second one lost a pin and all the blades/tools fell out on one side.

I'd say I got my money's worth out of it, but still.

    Thumbs up

+1 on the Leatherman Wave. Very well built and durable.

Like you need another +1 here, I recommend the Wave. I have both, and it seems to me that if you don't need the interchangeable-bits feature, you might be just as happy with the older version (and you'll likely pay less, if you can find one NIB).
