    Lower Receiver Concerns

Before I start I already contacted Aero and they never replied,

I got this lower (non-blem) and it had a blemish on the inside of the lower above the FCG area. The mark has the same texture as the rest of the anodizing. Should I be concerned about corrosion or anything else?

Forgot to add... Don't expect a prompt response from anyone during the shot show.

I personally wouldn't worry about it. You could hit it with a Alumi-Black or just a B.C. black paint pen if it bothers you.

Is that what it is? I was scared it was missing anodizing. Thanks.

I would give the company a little bit of time to get back, if they are at SHOT then they are going to be delayed.

Personally, it isn't something that would concern be greatly since I have lowers that after use have wear on the inside that is even great from swapping uppers, and more. That said, while it isn't something that I would see causing any issues, on a new lower I would get in contact with the manufacturer since that is not what I would expect from a non-blem lower. Now it if was blem then I would have just rocked on, so again, it appears purely cosmetic.

If you notice, the bare spot is a dull grey. That means the anodizing is intact. The black of the lower is NOT the anodizing. The black is simply a dye. Your blem is strictly cosmetic

OP, you worry too much. Even if there was no anodizing in that spot, aluminum after oxidizing is pretty tough. It won't keep on rusting like iron.

That's nothing to be concerned about. I wouldn't give it a second thought if it were my lower.
