Just wondering if it would be legal? i assume it would but i'd rather ask than get locked up for something stupid.

The way that last letter was written, even using just the sling itself in that fashion will result in a "redesign" of the design, and you have a foregrip on your pistol. Which is definitely illegal.

So yes, according to that decision, a sling ding on a pistol is a felony.

Dead Man is correct. Unfortunately one can no longer hold a pistol with two hands without redesigning if the letter's "logic" passes further scrutiny.
