Mask Recommendations

On a lesser discussed prep, where is the best place to buy a Gas/NBC mask, and what are some of the best out there? Everywhere I look I find old surplus stock, not necessarily something I would be too excited to buy.

I also see a lot of civilian masks as well, are these better than military issue?

Avon's are the cat's ass for masks, but they are not cheap. I use a Scott M-120, which looks a lot like the "Tactical DP (Domestic Preparedness) Gas Mask" from the list above, because it will use the same eyeglass frames as the Scott AV3000 SCBA masks. They are usually listed on fleabay for in between $50-$75.

Typically with newer masks the Military versions are better as they have an extra layer for added "erosion resistence". Such as with the M50 compared to the CM50.
