Pretty much the same here. I've got the mk18 and a surefire G2X handheld in reach. My G19 with a TLR1 mounted is also very close. I typically keep mine in "racksafe" mode with a 20 banger loaded with Q3313. I keep electronic muffs nearby too, I figure she might be a tad loud indoors.

Good luck to you in your battle.

As far as the gun goes, I do not keep a round in the chamber, I keep it bolt open, safety on and Aimpoint of course turned on.

Same here. I do so much dry fire and dry presentation practice that I don't keep one chambered either.

Bolt open, clear chamber, safety off, 30 round mag inserted, Aimpoint T2 on level 5-6, muzzle up with an improvised shoot-through rubber muzzle cap on the end, leaned up between my nightstand and bed within arms reach. I also keep a .45, 12ga pump, flashlight, 2 spare 30 round Pmags, and a pointy double-edged knife within close reach.

I have either a HK VP9 on my body or HK P30L with a Surefire X300 mounted within reach on my nightstand and the AR's are in the safe with a loaded magazine, empty chamber, hammer down.

When I feel that I need to raise the security to a higher level because of high criminal activity or local/national emergency of some sort, I expect to have my AR with a loaded magazine, one in the chamber and safety engaged along with a handgun at the ready, fortunately, that day has not arrived yet.

If I had any guns (which I dont), I'd have them all loaded. Round in the chamber, on safe, ready to go.

Thoughts and prayers also sent to op and family!

I just keep a chambered 9mm Glock with night sights and an extra mag on bedroom nightstand 24/7.
All my fighting rifles are locked and loaded in my vault in another room.
This might not be the best setup for others but I sleep well.
