Is the fire control group the same besides the selector spring? Your rifle really deserves an auto sear.

Now that brings back memories! Almost identical to my old service rifle, second rifle I was issued that is, the first one was of original AK5 vintage with the old stock and pistol grip.
Have a feeling that ceracote finish will be more durable than the enamel used on the rifles back home, chipped like crazy!
And from memory the gas cutoff was never used, instead a blank adapter was threaded into the flash hider and special blanks using a wooden bullet and somewhat lighter powder charge was used. Rifle cycled just fine using those blanks.
Awesome build....I scored a second host and want to do a similar build as a spare to my sear gun

My God. I'm in love. I love AK5s! This is an awesome thread!
My God...if there is one rifle that I don't have and definitely feel it, it is an AK5.
Lots of rifles I'd like to own, SA80A2 (even though they kind of suck), FAMAS, Valmet (several variants), etc. having an AK5 would make me forget about most of them. Thankfully I have some genuine SIGs so the hurt isn't as bad. But still would do almost anything for an AK5.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.
Chuck, we miss ya man.
