    Bastard no BS lightweight carbine

    Noveske upper receiver
    BCM lower receiver
Daniel Defense Lite rail (old school version… love these!)
Daniel Defense 14.5" lightweight barrel w/ gas block
    Colt M16 bold carrier group
    VLTOR medium latch charging handle
    Battle Arms BadAss pins
Griffin Arms. M4SD FLASH COMP 5 … for total legal barrel length of 16" (pinned)
Spikes T2 buffer w/ Springco Blue spring
    LMT iron sights
    LMP Sop-Mod stock
    Magpul MIAD grip
    Magpul aluminum trigger guard
    Magpul ASAP
…all other small parts from CMMG. I have a G2S trigger to drop in, but I really like the single stage stock CMMG. I'll save the G2S for another project.

The BCM lower is from BCM's earlier days, is an excellent match for the Noveske upper receiver. I cannot stand receiver overhang and /or slop. I know it doesn't matter, but I'm building the rifle, and I can control what I dislike. These fit like they were made for each other.

Just recently rattled canned it, in flavor of previous deployments.

Eats everything from Wolf to LE223T3, to SS109. Purely a fun little no BS rifle!

Kind of off topic, but that rug is pretty sweet.

Nice build, but lightweight build with no Keymod or M-Lok? Blasphemy.

I want some weight, the DD "Lite" rails give me that, nice balance.... I'm used to Military contour rifles from service. Not sure if this makes sense, but I like that weight is taken away from the front end with lightweight barrel. It isn't much, but it is noticeable. Balance feels more natural to me than my KMR uppered rifle (Braco Co. factory lightweight). Also, I wanted iron sights on this rifle. The KMR gains a little needed weight from a CompM4.

Not him, but I have always heard them called Afghan war rugs. I have seen a few from the Soviet era which are really bad ass.

I brought the rug back with me from Afghanistan in 2009. Cheers.
