    Mounting Secondary Optic

I have a burris FastFire 3 and am having some difficulty getting a mounting configuration I like.

    What I have tried:
    1) I tried the on top of the scope mount and did not like it, mostly because you need to lift up your head, breaking cheek weld to use the mini red dot.

    2) I got a 45 degree offset rail put it on my upper behind my scope mount. Problem here is the power button on the FastFire 3 is on the left side and the space between the scope and MRDS power button is too small for my fat fingers. I can sometimes get it with a bullet but over all its a pain in the ass.

    What I may try:

    1) I have a ALG EMR V2 rail which is slick aside form the front sight rail. I am thinking of either A) M-Lok rail at 1' o'clock position or B) M-LOK offset 45 degree rail mouted on the top. With either config I am planing on mounting the FF at the back of the HG, under the scope. This will solve my power button issue however staying out of the way of the windage turret on my PST has come up as a potential issue.

    2) New offset mount behind scope on receiver: I have been looking at the PREDATOR TACTICAL LLC - AR-15/M16 BURKETT GEN 2 OFFSET REFLEX SIGHT MOUNT. Because this design is a direct attach mount to the optic (no picatiny rail) It will sit lower and be slightly different position from the 45 degree offset rail I currently have. Has anyone used this mount with the FF3 and a high power scope? Does it allow access to the power button and clear the windage turret?

The custom build area is a place to show off/discuss and ask questions and get feedback about your completed custom build (this means a completed AR that is functional and already completed). If you are going to post pictures of your build, please post a complete picture not just your parts, partial lowers, etc....

Also, buying an upper separate and then a lower and throwing them together does not constitute a custom build. It would be nice if you took time to explain how you came to your decision and explain your set up. Thanks.

If you do not follow the guidelines and your post disappears it's probably because it was moved to the trash or deleted.
