What if I told you, that when you read you'll hear Matt Damon's voice inside your head. Better or worse? Lolz

However, many people seem to think The Martian was based on a true story.

I'd simply say that I don't watch his films and his voice is as bland as he is.

I'd imagine it in the voice of a Southerner Astronaut. Like Johnny Cash's verce in Highwayman. A rugged Robinson Crusoe stuck on an angry planet.

There is a book, and it is a fun read.

Lots of Matt Damon hate here. I'm not sure he was the ideal choice for the character, but I can reserve judgment until I've seen the film. 100% of my friends who have seen the movie liked it, and we all enjoy making fun of Matt Damon a la "Team America". I'm not much of a Joaquin Phoenix fan either, but I thought he did a good job in "Walk the Line".

    FFS...

    Also:
If you can't win a gun fight against a lightly-trained individual during broad daylight with 88 rounds of 30-06, I'm not sure you'd be able to do it with... any other firearm.

Ok, I've got an El Camino full of rampage here, so what's the plan?

"Rounders" was good. "The Departed" was awesome but that was around like 2006 so he will have to have done an awesome job to impress me.

He was such a douche in Interstellar... Going to the 1930 show here. We'll see how this goes.

I loved the book so much that I thought I'd for sure be disappointed with the film. Fortunately that was not the case. Saw the movie on Tuesday and highly recommend it. I'm not a big Matt Damon fan by any stretch, but I thought he did a great job. The casting was very well done.

This thread originally turned me onto the book. I listened to the AudioBook at work and loved it! Same as Korgs, I was worried the movie would fall short. I know its hard to cram everything into a 2 hour movie and some parts were left out, but overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
