Colt Govt Carb Slab Side, Which Upper ?

My first post, so please be gentle. I have a slab-side Colt lower, gray patina, with markings 'AR15A2, Government Carbine' and a four digit serial number. What upper do I need to complete the set, ie. to make it into its original model ? Thanks.

The upper you seek will have an A2 upper with a lightweight 16" barrel with 1/7 twist.

The upper will have a large front pivot hole with a CM forge code and no M4 feedramps.

Not necessarily; there are some variations. Mine is not a 4 digit serial number. However, it is a new, original, unfired, in-the-box AR15A2 with an A1 upper, CH forge markings, large front pivot hole, 18" 1/7 twist government profile barrel.

I have an upper for you!

    Pike:

I have a COLT A2 upper receiver with the gray patina you seek and the appropriate large pivot pin hole. It should match the lower PERFECTLY.

I kept the 1/7 16" pencil barrel (and made the rifle into a flattop), but I would be willing to part with the upper receiver for a reasonable and somewhat modest sum.

If you can wait a couple of weeks, I will have a COLT 16" 1/9 heavy barrel (with an F FSB and M4 ramps) to accompany it!

Send me a PM and we can talk about it!

    All the best,
    Alan

What does your lower say and what is the serial number.

    Hmm, Confused

Okay, getting a little confused here. Clearly, I need a large hole upper and one which matches my gray lower. Pencil barrel ? Heavy ? A1 or A2 ? Maybe I'll just sell it and buy a match to my 6922 ! Anyway, thanks for the input.
