Anyone familiar with Side Charged Receivers

Alexander Arms has one: see here.

Its purpose is to make long-range accuracy shooting easier from the prone, thus, the side charger. Also, the thicker receiver walls make it less susceptible to flexing under the weight of long barrels.

The upper receiver flex can be eliminated with LaRue or Vltor uppers receivers.
