    Thanks for the info, guys.

I'm looking at LMT as Rob suggested.

Judging by the chart they rate pretty high, do their stand-alone uppers rate the same on the chart as their complete guns?

I'm going to reach deep, find my patience, (I know it's around here somewhere,) and buy a complete gun as soon as I can sell some stuff.

    SBR

I sbr'd one of my colts w/o a problem. Had ADCO shorten up a LWRC upper to 12.5 and I'm running an ops 15 can on it.
Shoots great with and without the can.

Ed down at Shooters in Brunswick, GA had a couple of 6933's (as well as another brand of SBR) last time I checked (I bought one) and he's great to deal with.

I don't know if there's any real difference between a 6933 and a 6920 with a short upper.....as long as the upper is top flight manufacture. Noveske, LMT...something like that and you ought to be fine. The only real difference is the potential value to a collector if you plan on keeping it unfired and boxed.

Have fun whichever way you pick.

Everyone says NO. But I can't warm up to the notion of it.

    Why not..?!?

Why not just register whatever lower you WANT, as opposed to "Engraving one..?!?"
I really don't think it is required to engrave to register anymore...

Colt is top notch, but it's not up there by itself. A 6933 would be sweet, but not for that kind of additional money. I would take Rob's LMT suggestion all the way. I have that exact setup and it's flawless. Once John comes out with his N4 SBR I will pick up an upper from him as well. Spend your savings on a good optic.

That's all I did. I left Line 4h blank on my Form 1s. (the line that asks what additional markings will be on the weapon)

I actually didn't do it on purpose, but it worked out well for me.

Cool. I wasn't sure if my incident was a fluke.
