if anybody's interested, the CMP is selling NIW 1911 mags, made by Checkmate in the 80's (from what I can see in their pics) $8.00 each, limit 10.. Plus shipping, handling. They might make good range mags.

Last I heard, the part of the bill that provided for this had been removed. I'll try to find it.
