I'm going with the auxilery adapter method jTrusty described above for three reasons:

    1. it will keep the sling off the rubber portion of the butttock
    2. it's cheap and easy
    3. it will enable me to quickly ditch my 2 point for a wolf hook

Midwest Industries MCTAR-09 works great on the SOPMOD stock.

I really like this- DD Rear Receiver QD Swivel Attachment Point

Shifting the rear sling attachment point forward makes the carbine much handier during manipulations. The bottom placement of the swivel makes it easier to switch shoulders, and less issue with being self choked-out. Fully replacing the plate also allows the stock to fully collapse (depending on stock and plate, of course).

Paracord works great with the IDF style slings. You get removeable, silent attachments at the front and rear.

I've done a search in this forum for IDF style slings and came up short. Do you have a pic or link I can check out?

    Thanks,

Try this link. I can't get to my pics because photo sites are filtered here.

You don't have to attach it to the Front site base like many of the IDF pics show. I don't like stuff attached to my front site base at all. I use a couple of different methods to avoid this. A small piece of paracord stays on my stock all the time. The sling just clips to it like a brief case strap. The only time I don't have my slings attached are when I'm cleaning.

Now that I can get to some of my images.... Here's a couple of attachment methods I run.

The IDF slings clip right on like luggage straps.
Makes you wonder why sling attachment methods have been so complicated in the past.

The upside is that the whole sling set up can be under $20 depending on who you order from.
