My dad was in the Army, but he didn't really have many guns. Just a few specific hunting rifles, usually bolt action. I had a BB gun pretty young, but my first real gun was a .410 shotgun that my uncle gave me for Christmas when I was five. I did a bit of coon hunting with my dad as a kid, but it was more about the dogs and the chase than taking the shot.

Not sure what caused it but my uncle said there was a accident(no one died) growing up and he is not sure why he thinks that way. My father did asked me to provide my sister with a spare firearm when her house kept getting broken into. After his attempt of installing an alarm system, that did nothing. He simply refuses to talk on the whys and that me owning firearms are a waste of money.

Never saw/touched a gun until boot camp. Throughout my 8 years in the infantry it was just a tool for job, never was an enthusiast. After getting out however, I took up firearms as a hobby and starting shooting matches.

Got my first BB gun at 10, after completing the hunter safety course at age 12, I got a .22 and a 20 guage. Started hunting at 13.

I was interested in guns (as well as airplanes, tanks military stuff etc) as long as i can remember. Growing up as a kid in the UK, there weren't any real ones available, so i had cap guns and a toy SLR (L1A1). i have pictures of me around 4 or 5 years old wearing a cowboy rig with a six-shooter cap gun.
