but good fresh meat with the oil we used to make our own milk and or cream and use it in coffee freaking awesome stuff

cream is the meat then pressed
milk is meat and water pressed
blender or shredded etc.. to get out the oils/cream

also eating fresh raw coconut is something folks rarely experience compared to any stuff in stores

I also have been using good butter in coffee for years I know that's a thing that some do for the bomb proof ?

so curious what do you think of just butter or just coconut oil without cocoa like you mention or the creatine ?
or is it something that has to have the other ? to really work

    thanks

trying to cut back on my coffee but love it so much
Per the OP linked article, no butter in bomb proof as it serves no purpose to it. Each ingredient is broken down as to it's purpose and effect, and why it's in there. Read that article, and feedback here, and drive on

John Bauer at Natural Choices Wellness covers my recipe:

    Bomb-Proof Coffee – a better alternative?

"Will Brink is an author, columnist and consultant, to the supplement, fitness, bodybuilding, and weight loss industry as well as the creator of the Brinkzone Blog. Will has a series of videos and articles on coffee which I link to below.

The first is a video review he did of Bulletproof Coffee where he questions whether the benefits live up to the hype. This led to a series of comments and questions on what he would recommend as a substitute.

Now, Will is a “show me the science” guy so this became a bit of a challenge to him to design his own coffee recipe based on the science he has studied. His goal was to find a blend of ingredients which boosted mental clarity, boosted energy levels, increased mental focus, tasted relatively good and was net healthier."

For those not familiar with Bomb Proof Coffee, this will get you up to speed.

"In Part I of Bomb Proof Coffee, I cover what’s in it and why, as well as how to make it, doses, sources, etc in video form HERE. If you’re new to Bomb Proof Coffee you’ll want to watch those videos for all the info you need to get started. This article will add some of the supporting science on the ingredients in Bomb Proof Coffee.

The obvious first ingredient to cover is the coffee. Coffee just continues to show itself to a have a wide variety of health benefits for both the brain and body. Not surprisingly, not all coffee is created and the levels of beneficial compounds depends on the type of processing and other factors. As the coffee itself is not the main focus of Bomb Proof Coffee per se, the Life Extension has a good article HERE covering the topic and offers a coffee with especially high levels of beneficial compounds found in coffee that might make a good choice for the coffee used in Bomb Proof Coffee."

Resurrecting a good thread for good reason. Will, what are your thoughts on this?

Coconut oil is 'pure poison,' Harvard professor says in talk on nutrition - USA TODAYhttps://apple.news/AmGA_Q9JZRLqQk-FPIpT-sQ

I know if you ask ten different doctors about one subject you’re going to get six different opinions, but even the mayo clinic has waited and suggesting the stuff isn’t what you should be using.

As someone who has arthrosclerosis in the family, I’m really considering yanking the coconut oil from my diet. Thoughts?

I think like those who claim coconut oil is miracle fat that cures brain cancer, no data to support such a claim as "poison." It is a source of saturated fats, some MCTs, etc, and as such, should be limited, but not eliminated from your diet per se. Specific to the thread, the very small amount (T spoon or less) found in Bomb Proof recipe is a non issue for most. Loading up on the stuff adds a lot of calories, much if it from saturated fats, and unless you're a marathon runner or on a keto diet (a whole other fad and topic...), not a great idea.

Answer is, per usual, truth falls some place in the middle:

FYI, I just updated my discussion on coconut oil on my site in fact HERE if interested in more intel.

    Thanks Will,

Great article with video. My take away is that my cholesterol levels are in the basement every year for my annual blood work. I’ll just make sure I keep it under 1 teaspoon per day. That stuff just tastes so good in the coffee...

If your lipid are GTG, then sounds like a non issue in your case. In fact, one can have cholesterol levels too low. High levels associated with CVD, but very low levels associated with cancer, and other stuff:

Curious Will what your read is on total vs ratios?

I've had high total all my life, but good ratios. Now the higher total is considered an issue.a

It's an ever moving target it seems. Now it appears HDL is not as protective as once thought:
