New Hornady Bullets...

I've ran the 140 eld match and 143 eld-X bullets out of my 6.5 creedoor gasser to 1000 yards I would say the 140 match may have a slight edge in accuracy both shot very well. I have shot the 143 into my bullistic gel at 100 yards and it had 75% weight retention and a nice mushroom. I may if I have time this weekend set up the gel at 600yds just to see what they do

Marks-What loads are you running now? I started out with factory ammo just to enjoy the rifle, but I'm deeply disappointed so far. I had planned on running 208gr Amax bullets, but they're discountinued.

Gone in favor of the ELD and ELD-X.

I still have a few thousand at least. Years ago before these bullets were popular I built an '06 around these loaded to nearly 3.600" and Norma MRP (RL22). Velocity aplenty from my 28" barrel.

I'm liking the 162 ELD out of my 7mag. I made no changes to the load when transitioning from the amax.

Ok gents, I'm a loser. Going into my third box, I started printing much better groups. My first 5 shot group this past Thursday night from 200 yards was 3", followed by another 5 shot of 2". Maybe it was just because the barrel is within its first 100 rounds. I think I'm going to pick up that box of ELD bullets and try it with H1000.
