    Good AK Gunsmith?

Hello all. I recently purchased an AK-47 and I am looking for a company that offers services for the AK. Most places I have used in the past for the AR platform don't work on the AK. I am only looking to have some simple work done; basically shorten the barrel and perm on a muzzle device. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes I searched...
Yes I know, buy ammo, and practice...
Blah, Blah, other internet ninja recommendations...

Get ahold of Matt Yeamans: http://www.mygunsnorthwest.com/index.html. The dude is legit and his prices are more than fair. He did a custom build for me two years ago and I will be sending more work to him in the very near future. I would also recommend Troy Sellars at In Range, Rifle Dynamics, and Mesa Kinetic Research.

I second the Rifle Dynamics vote. They've done a substantial amount of work for me and I have yet to be disappointed.

I second this. Matt does great work and is also great to deal with.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Thanks for the information all, I saw Rifle Dynamics while researching this, and their website even stated that their backlog was substantial. I will explore your other reccomendations.

I sent a Mak-90 to Matt Yeaman just this last August for some work, and he got it back to me that same month.

I suggest that you send him an email telling him what you would like done, and he will quote you a price and a time frame.

I sent messages to several about the work I want done, Matt Yearman is the only one to respond favoribly so far. In Range responded that they are not taking work, I assume rifle dynamics is swamped. I'll give it a day or two to see what I get back from them and Mesa Kinetic, but Matt's quick response and reasonable quote for the work will likely get the nod.

Again, thanks to all who provided info, much appreciated.

I've sent to AK's to Mark Graham at Arizona Response Systems. He does fantastic work. Totally rebuilt a TGI AK74 build that was having big problems, I highly reccomend him.
