Credit that they are dealing with it, versus ignoring / denying / trying to spin out of it. Google "Ford transmission problems" and you'll see what I mean. To your point, it's not much credit I'm giving them, just some for doing the right thing in the end.

They have still hurt their image however on how they've handled it.

Think about the first gen of Magpul Glock Mags and how that was handled ... it strengthened people's faith in MagPul.

    Sig won't have that problem.

Are they saying the shipping is on the customer's dime? Both ways? I see you're a dealer so likely you have info here we don't

If true and provable, that would be incredibly damning to them and potentially open them up to some major losses I'd expect, including, but not limited to, that mil contract if some Senator et al gets wind of it to "prove" the evils of the fire arms industry or other agenda. I truly hope this defect was not known by Sig is it could harm more than just Sig in my view.

Anything short of "send us your gun on our dime and we will install upgraded trigger and return it" is total fail on their end. That's how S&W works in my experience for example.

Well... Sig can send me pre-paid a FedEx label and take care of this right way (warranty recall), or I'll be joining the class action lawsuit as soon as it's filed.

Dear Sig... You've been my duty weapon through thick and thin since 1990. Do the right thing here, or I'll NEVER buy another one of your products. EVER.

In all honesty when I saw the news they released a pistol without any safety at all, including the dingus I said this is an accident waiting to happen.

The biggest WTF for me is how it passed the Army's testing.

The Army version has the external safety. It has not "drop-fired" (yet) while on safe. Odds are it probably will not fire when on safe.

Easy. It has to be dropped at an angle that is not the standard drop test.

Plus maybe manual safety, not sure if they test with it on.

Okay, that's something that REALLY blows my mind

The most likely and risky drop scenario is dropping it bottom first, and that's NOT tested??!!

Did gun manufacturers pay someone to overlook that as a testing case?

Specific to the big green or in general? Obviously lots of quality pistols out their without a safety but I can understand why a safety for your average soldier is a good idea.
