Not sure how well that setup would hold zero.

The picture you are referring to was from a small town in upstate NY - NYC ESU / Hercules teams etc run Aimpoints.

I've run Aimpoints in gooseneck mounts on fixed handle guns - they aren't optimal but they work.

The problem is the CS PD isn't using gooseneck mounts - per the photos they have the EO-Techs mounted on the top rail of the 1913 hand guard. This will put the optic too low for a co-witness and good luck holding zero.

Plus those A2 stocks ...... They are way too long even before body armor and cold weather gear.

That carbine in Pic 3 appears to be something like a Colt 6520. I can't tell how it is mounted to be honest. If the caption is correct, he is from CSPD and not El Paso Co.

I can't recall their issue policy since I see and deal with so many different groups.

Well I'd just like to offer my condolences to those who had the misfortune of being a part of that event. They didn't deserve it.

Appears to be a 6520 with a drop in type Picatinny rail with an Eotech on top. Wouldn't be my first choice of set up, but I guess you have to do what you have to do.

It seems like most agency's have no problem throwing all the money in the world at gadgets for the cars and traffic control, (since that's where their money is I guess). But when it comes armor, rifles, practice ammo for rifles and pistol, and TRAINING, they don't seem to care or invest there.

I know of an agency gives 100 rounds of rifle ammo annually to train on. Which is like 5 minutes of training to do drills.

Thats worse than I remember. Then again when I saw the video I was just in shock from seeing the Eotech mounted to the hand guard. Not really sure why he has one hand free and the other holding the rifle by the mag well.

Probably because the rifle doesn't have a sling.

Weapons and accessories come from a different budget area than training, etc..
