You guys aren't redesigning the feed lips at all are you? Its a bit disappointing that the 5 round version doesn't fit in my Tikka T3 + KRG Whiskey 3 (which does accept AICS mags).

The AICS compatible magazine program is plagued with the variations in the platforms that run AICS magazines. You have a magazine that was made to work in a specific chassis with the Rem 700 SA, (and the LA has the same) and a bunch of other chassis and actions that are then designed around working with that specific magazine with variations in height, placement, receiver opening, etc. We chose to make the best possible magazine that we could, which, in polymer involves using as much of the available real estate as we could without causing issues with the vast majority of rifles out there. We necessarily need more room because of the weird round stack and the requirement to build durable feed lips that present rounds consistency with not a lot of room to do it in. What we have is a durable, reliable magazine that can be had at half the price of the AI version, that takes a lot of abuse without bending lips, and that is thermally stable. It's virtually impossible to 100% accommodate all the variants out there right out of the box due to the fact that the performance we wanted couldn't be made in exactly the same form factor as a metal mag--and even less possible to test every possible combination due to the sheer number of variations out there that are "AICS mag compatible". They can be and have been modified to work well with quite a few of the less common combinations where out of the box fitment isn't perfect. Heck, I have a .300WSM set up that runs our mags with some feed lip mods.
