Thanks for the reply guys. I'd hope to save it but it might just be a causality. Sucks because its like a $90 muzzle device. Totally wasn't thinking when I ordered just wanted to get that beast into my cart and check out. It is what it is at this point.

With regards to installing SGBs, or even SMRs for that matter, it was an error on my part now that I think about it to not mention that it requires a certain skill set, and correct tools in order to successfully/safely install these products.

Geissele designs tend to make these installs very straight forward, and intuitive, however that's not to ever say that they should be done by those who don't possess the necessary skills or tools needed to perform the task safely.

Yeah the MK4 is the lightest.

I believe they will start manufacturing them in April.

Called today to check on my order for the MK4 barrel but. Last week they expected them this week now its looking more like 3-4 weeks out.

So I figured I'd have everything to finish my build by the end of this week. Not worth just to save 2.2oz so I canceled the order.

FWIW....

A LMT MRP chassis starts it's life off as nearly a 7lb. chunk of aluminum, and then undergoes approximately 4-5 continuous hours of machining in a CNC.

The machine work involved in this new MK4 is unlike anything I've seen including what I consider to be the gold standard for impeccable machine work (the MRP and MWS chassis). The tolerances on this new rail are incredibly tight, and thereby the machine work associated with creating them has to be perfect.

How many MK4s can be produced a day? My guess is only a handful.

The MK1 also is an incredibly tedious, and expensive rail to construct, but not so much for the extensive/precise machine work involved in it, but rather expense/time associated with the steel inserts.

The ultra sleek MK4 will be worth waiting for imho.
