Does anyone know the height dimension (from top to bottom rail) on the MK4 rails? Also, are they using 7075-T6 aluminum for the rails or a 60 series aluminum alloy. I prefer using the thumb over the top rail type of grip on a RD sighted carbine, so the rail height is just about as important for me and my hand size as a rails width.

Does any handguard manufacturer use 7 thousand series for a rail?

If there is one than mill handguard from bar stock, why not? But for extruded rails, I do not think so.

Yeah... I'm not an expert on the subject... but I've never felt my 6000 series rails lacked any strength or durability.

For hand guard rails the only ones that I know of are the ones on the Larue Tactical Predator and OBR rifles
As for monolithics, LMT, and Mega Arms.

    Me too, me too....

But you know, "never underestimate power of cool factor, Luke!"

They make titanium firing pins, why not milled 7075-T6 rails. Like for $2000 one
