Negative, rather I used the term in a very complimentary fashion.

I've used the term "toy rifle" in the past to describe both a stock Colt 6520, and a stock SR-15 IWS feel.

    A bone stock 6520 weighs 5.9lbs empty, and 6.9lbs w/ fully loaded 30rd mag.

A bone stock SR-15 IWS weighs 6.8lbs empty, and 7.8lbs w/ fully loaded 30rd mag

The Mk4 config. above weighs 6.6lbs empty, and 7.6lbs w/ fully loaded 30rd mag. Bear in mind the Mk4 rifle has a T-1/ADM mount, SF M300A + SR-07 tape switch.

Is that larger hole near the barrel nut an integral QD?

Are there any plans for Geissele Rails for 7.62 rifles?

    Well, damn.

Might need to buy a new Mk1!

Here are the measurements for the height dimensions (from top to bottom rail) for all there variants of the SMR:

    Mk1: 2.2415"

    Mk2: 2.3125"

    Mk4: 2.3130"

Quite some time ago, I had ask about rails for 7.62 ARs, and was told that they are planning on offering these in the future. I wasn't given any kind of time frame for them though. I'm very confident we'll see SMR 7.62 models in the future, but my guess is that it won't be any time in the immediate future.

I've haven't received any release info on the Mk4 thus far, and I think the April date was told to others by the folks at GA.

I hope its very soon though!

Let's call this a SMR quick chart....

*** please note that all data contained in the above chart was collected by myself using the best instrumentation/procedures that were possible. This isn't official data/info from Geissele Automatics.
