Images of the revised MK2 and MK4 rails; these are strictly to show folks what changes were made since the last revision. I do NOT have information on ETA of availability.
MK2 - 13" - IMO, significant changes were made to lighten the rail. There are relief cuts found throughout the rail, bottom of the rail has different pattern of cut to remove as much weight as possible but maintain rigidity, the screw plates were thinned out to remove excess weight, utilizes t-bone design to retain barrel nut screws, and some others I may be missing.
MK4 - 9.5"
Is the MK1 being revised like that as well?
Sic semper tyrannis.
That 9.5 MK IV would make a siiiiiiiick 12.5 SBR upper. I'm feeling inspired....
Whyd did they do revision on mk4 i like the square vent better.looks like new looks is litle havier..
I agree big time....Love the square vent holes on the bottom, and I haven't burnt my finger yet after several months using the Mk4.
The new Mk4 is actually lighter.....not sure if they lightened other areas or if the weight savings potentially came from the new bottom venting holes.
12.71oz VS. 11.09oz.
13" rail that weighs 11.09oz .... I imagine people will over look the bottom venting holes due to the incredible lightweight nature of it.
Well that's a sorry state of affairs. The revision erased the distinctiveness. Guess I'm now waiting for the new Centurian rail instead. Reportedly in 7.62 first then 5.56.
