Training Derp. *Video inside*

Have any of you guys practiced any drills, live fire or dry, that have given you the derp?

Example:

I used to do Jason Falla's Foxtrot drill as part of dry fire practice.
I figured it was a good drill that gave me dry fires, malfunction clearances, and reloads all in one drill.

I don't do that Foxtrot drill anymore.

Drill would probably still work with a mag full of dummy rounds that way the slide locks open on the last rack and then reload can be practiced.

You wouldn't be the first person to do this.

Does that mean the drill is worthless or flawed? No, it just means you need to keep your brain in gear when you're doing any drill, live or dry. Being a monkey on youtube that has ingrained it without thinking loses the purpose.

Thanks for posting. Point taken. I'm wondering if Tap rack bang drills may arguably be best done during live fire only with snap caps interspersed with live rounds, and/or with chambered pistol but mag not fully inserted drills.

My press likes to seat primers a bit deep.
I get 3-4 clicks instead of bangs a range trip.

I've gotten pretty quick at clearing them.
I can still make par on certain drills.
