Maybe the projectile is, but the fast burning powder is the real development in my eyes. Getting the projectile up to speed in the shorter barrels has always been the Achillies heel for the SBR crowd.

I often wondered if reloaders ever made a similar round, maybe using pistol powder... I'd be too nervous to experiment.
You know what I like best about most people?

didnt corbon do that special powder thing for 45acp short barrels? seems like someone else does it for other pistol calibers too.

I shot some yesterday through a 10.5" LMT MRP and 10" SCAR 16s. Recoil was softer than the M193 and it was noticeably more accurate. I was shooting suppressed with a SF 556-RC2 and 300SPS. It might have been a little quieter but not enough to be meaningful. I did not get a chance to check velocity due to time constraints.
I like my rifles like my women - short, light, fast, brown, and suppressed.

I thought it would be a bit faster with the SBR specific powder. The black hills 77g TMK runs 2470fps out of an 11.5" barrel and it's not designed as an SBR specific load.
