Completely missed that one. I have an earlier MKE but the receiver type should be about the same and yeah, swing down lowers seem to be perfect fits on those guns. Not sure the housing you are looking at will actually get your thumb any closer to the selector or not, but shouldn't have any fit problems.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

I just got one of those Navy grips, thought I'd post the results.

It's a night and day difference from the OEM contour grip. It's like the difference between a MOE-K grip and a Larue APEG or other grip with a very large backstrap area.

I can now reach and manipulate the safety much easier. (Already had an extended one on there, so now it's nice and proper.)

I did one of those trigger guard undercuts widely done on Glocks to the SEF housing just to see how it works out. I kind of like it, doesn't look great but it's smooth after 3200 grit.

Caved in and bought the new folding brace. What a joke for $250.

I'd be curious what problems you found with it. I've been thinking of buying one also.

No significant problems so far. It's just overpriced for what it is.. None of the plastic/polymer is Magpul quality. The brace section is just a pliable softer plastic that is essentially molded into the harder B&T end cap that feels like a 3D printed part.

I was going to wait for that brace to hit the cheap vendors like Lanbos for $155-165. The current fixed brace makes it hard to use the irons when shooting NTCH.

Another option would be the KAK MP5K adapter ($50) + Hera SFU ($120), RE, and brace. Maybe not as elegant but probably more robust. Too bad KAK can't seem to make the adapter.

...and I may switch up to a similar light setup. Not finding a good solution with my cantilever mount and Inforce WML.

I got tired of waiting for Lanbos to update their stock and highly doubt they'll pull off their $199.99 price. SB Tactical are full of themselves for selling these at HK premium prices. Fingers crossed Gear Head Works will offer their A3 collapsible Mod 1 Tailhook at more realistic prices.

The light setup is the only good option other than forking $500+ for the Surefire 328/628. One reason I haven't gone with a Surefire/Arisaka M300v is because there aren't any tape switches with constant on feature that will fit on the rail at a good location. Would LOVE it if the cocking tube had a picatinny rail on the 12:00 so I can bust out the SR07 switch up there. The ST07 and Magpul MLOK switch thingy doesn't fit on the 3:00 section because the rail isn't long enough to support both the switch and light mount. It's also too wide to fit on the 5:00 because it impedes with the Arisaka offset light mount.

I finally got my Omega 9K tax stamp and had a chance to shoot the Z-5RS suppressed this past week. I was shooting at an indoor range so I couldn't really gauge the sound suppression effectiveness but it shot very smoothly and I had no problems with function. This SBR is pretty much done - perhaps a light and foregrip later down the road. Here are the obligatory pics:

It's sporting the DTAC modular handguard, A2 fixed stock, and an Aimpoint Pro mounted in an MFI ultra low profile mount and Aimpoint 30mm ring (#12229). Damn fun to shoot!

Finally done. This thing makes me mad for how much money I had to spend for me to be happy with shooting it, given that it doesn't have a giggle switch and is only shooting 9mm. It's fun to shoot though.
