    Inexpensive Navigation Light

A couple of days ago, I was walking around the local Wal-Mart. While walking through the Automotive section (on my way to the Sports section), I ran across an end-cap display of the "Lum Pod", a stick-on momentary-switched dual-LED light that cost just under $6 (before taxes, of course): http://www.lssproducts.com/product/6484/portable-lamps

These were meant to be used in cell phones and such and their batteries can be replaced by the user. While they came in various colors and I picked up a black one: http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...kal/LumPod.jpg

These cane with a self-sticking back to which I attached the "hook" side of the velcro. I then attached strips of the "loop" side onto my SBR's left-side rail cover just above the VFG: http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...dInstalled.jpg

Where I installed it, I can easily activate the momentary-switch with my support-hand thumb and the light it put out was surprisingly bright: http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...umPodinuse.jpg

So much so, that I am considering taping one of the LEDs. Here is a comparison between these and the SUrefire LED flashlight that I am using as my primary Weaponslight for this SBR: http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...etoPrimary.jpg

    Just thought I'd share!!
