    I wouldn't say hype. Magazines are consumables and should be discarded when they stop functioning as intended. USGI mags suffer from feed lip deformation whereas Pmags usually suffer broken lips. Either way the magazine is unserviceable and should be tossed. I would argue that broken feed lips prevents people from trying to salvage magazines by trying to re shape the feed lips. Aside from that, the USGI mags don't do too well when stepped on or otherwise crushed.

    Never before have we had so many options for AR mags worth owning. GI, Mapul, Lancer, or Tango Down, in all their revisions, capacities, color options, and myriad of accessories will give you years of service. And at a price point of $15-20 each. The problem of which one to use is a very good problem to have.

    And with that, I think this thread has run its course.
