    Binocular recommendation needed

Looking for a pair of binoculars that meet the following parameters:

    Price: $1500 max
    8x42
    Durable
Usage: mixed. Range use, hiking, bird watching, etc.
Eye relief: 16mm or greater. (I wear glasses)
    Exit pupil: see eye relief.
    Locking diopter
    Multi position eye cups.

I'm looking at the Vortex Razor HD binoculars right now, but any other recommendations are appreciated.

You're looking at my recommendation already. I bought the 10×50 version. They are excellent for the money.

I've seen that years ago. Hasn't been updated and those are STILL LAVs picks.

Unfortunately, neither of his recommendations meet my requirements for eye relief, locking diopter, eye cups and/or cost.

I agree with LAV, particularly his love of Leica glass but sadly they were out of my budget. Some day!

Given your budget and parameters consider the Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42 or Leica trinovid 8x42 non HD. Both are just under $1k. Personally I own the Conquest HD in 8x32 and throughly enjoy the view, quality and fit and finish.

Now thinking out loud, if you could swing it for $1750, the Swarovski 8x42 SLC would be my ultimate suggestion.

Check out thewirecutter review of birding binos. Some of the more recent offerings will give Leica a real run for the money.

Keep an eye out on eurooptics sales, their Leica, Zeiss, Swaro, and Meopta binos go on sale reguarly.\

That said, I have the Razor 10x42 and love them.

    Guys,
I love the Vortex raptors I have. I like Steiner and Leica as much as the next guy but Vortex glass is crisp, clear, durable and has never failed me in the field. Great CS , can't beat the gaurantee. Just a thought, good luck. http://www.vortexoptics.com/category/binoculars
