    H&K announces VP9/VP40 - in FDE

So Heckler & Koch - in an announcement pretty heavily overshadowed by the SP5K - has launched flat dark earth-framed VP9s and VP40s. Might be of interest to the local FDEosexuals.

    Link to Soldier Systems article.

The little sheet from H&K describes the frame color as RAL7008, rather than the RAL8000 that H&K has been using on their FDE guns. But they don't look like RAL7008 - which is a grey-khaki - they look closer to the mustard yellow of RAL8000, or perhaps the FDE H&K was using on the earlier production FDE HK45s and HK45Cs.

Of course, I haven't seen one in real life to compare against RAL8000, either.

It does appear that in rather unusual H&K fashion - instead of being many months or years from now - the FDE VP9s are already shipping in the "LE" configuration (with tritium night sights and three magazines).

HK has new special model SFP9 M (M like MAC I think ), with model prefix 225 and crossed trident and anchor on the slide.

Nice. It is the anti-mud/anti-tank model. So you should be able to throw this one at a tank driven by a tree, after it has been buried in mud and fire it successfully.
